Squid Game Season 3 release date on Netflix was announced on January 30 as the final round of the Korean thriller will return to screens on June 27. The Squid Game, known as the most popular series, will pick up from where it left off in season 2 with Gi-hun ( Lee Jung-Jae) crying over the loss of his best friend, Jung-bae (Lee Seo-hwan).
Even though his friend is dead, “Gi-hun further persists with his goal to put an end to the game, while the Front Man continues onto his next move and the other living player’s choices will lead to grave consequences with each round,” it continues. The question was is there gonna be a squid game in season 3 and now fans are counting the days until they get their final answer?

Squid Season 3 Notable Casts
Following the addition to Jung-Jae and Byun-hun, the season will see the return of Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-jun, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-Geun, Kang Ae-sim, Jo Yuri, Lee David and Roh Jae-won. Season 2 ended with Gi-hin and a small group of his fellow X team members on a mission to end the games once and for all by infiltrating the control room and confronting the Front Man.
However, their mission proved unsuccessful after the group ran out of ammunition and the Front Man posing as Young-il finally double-crossed them to assume his true position. The finale left on a major cliffhanger and saw Gi-hun wailing as the Front Man killed Jung-bae in front of him in cold blood.
In a conversation with PEOPLE in December 2024, Lee said “Portraying Gi-hun in season one was a little more fun and enjoyable because he’s got that positive and cheerful energy and it’s less stressful to convey those characters,” he recalled. “And in season two, he was the other way around, and it made my heart quite heavy.”
Will Squid Game Have A Season 3?
Even though Netflix hasn’t released the trailer, they shared a 15-second teaser with fans on the official X platform in January 2025. The brief clip also reveals a new character Chul-Su, a male counterpart to the terrifying killer doll Young-hee. You can also enjoy its previous two seasons on Netflix.
