Sir Alex Ferguson was spotted at Carrington ahead of Manchester United’s crucial Premier League fixture against fierce rivals Liverpool on Sunday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under increasing pressure following United ‘s dismal start to the season and a positive result against Jurgen Klopp’s men would give the side some much needed confidence.
Ferguson was pictured in conversation with Solskjaer and coach Michael Carrick while watching Manchester United’s U18 side take on Middlesbrough.
Ferguson managed United 64 times against Liverpool – winning 29, drawing 14 and losing 21.
His spell as manager helped the Reds overtake their rivals in terms of trophies, United surpassed Liverpool’s total of 18 league titles in 2011.
